The Yongjiang Laboratory Advanced Display and Sensing Research Center was established on 30 Nov. Tang Feifan, Mayor of Ningbo city, Zhang Xuming, Deputy Director of the Talent Office of Zhejiang Province, Lin Yalian, member of the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal Party Committee attended the ceremony and unveiled the center.

The Advanced Display and Sensing Research Center is the first research center to be established at the Y-LAB. Focusing on the cutting-edge XR technologies, the center's research directions include key devices, terminal equipment solutions, and advanced image algorithms etc. It is committed to providing a complete technical solution for the user experience of blending digital technologies and the real world. Currently the center has established a global team of more than 70 researchers, engineers and technicians.

The XR Industry Frontier Forum was also held, and experts from government, industry, academia and research gathered to talk about the opportunities and challenges of XR development.

"Today is a historic day. On 30 November 1609, Galileo Galilei made his first observation of the moon with a homemade astronomical telescope, which began the human exploration of the universe. Today, we are also using XR technologies to explore a new world.” Cui Ping, Director of the Y-LAB said that she would hope that the center would work with partners to build China's XR ecosystem and explore the future of XR.
