Talent Program

Y-LAB has a series of talent programs to attract researchers as well as entrepreneurs and managers. Our STARS programs including Strategic Scientiests Program, Team Leader Program, Achiever Program, Rising Star Program and Career Starters Program are respectively for strategic scientists, research leaders, senior researchers, young scientists and PhD graduates.

Strategic Scientist Program

Requirements

  • Internationally renowned experts ranked top ten in your area;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage research groups and research activities;
  • Successful record of promoting and maintaining collaborative links with industry/business/community with adequate frontier knowledge of the subject matter as well as industry;
  • Full professor positions or equivalent in previous roles; availability to work full-time in Y-Lab is required.

 

Outstanding candidates with a successful track record of contribution will not be constrained by the requirements of degree qualifications and length of work experience.
Team Leader Program
Requirements
  • Nationally renowned experts ranked top ten in your area;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage research groups and research activities; 
  • Experience in developing and delivering research programs;
  • PhD in relevant subject area with 7+ years of independent research experience. 
 
Outstanding candidates with a successful track record of contribution will not be constrained by the requirements of degree qualifications and length of work experience.
Achiever Program

Requirements

  • Experience in leading or participating in major projects;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage research groups and research activities;
  • Experience in developing and delivering research programs;
  • PhD or equivalent in relevant subject area with 5+ years of independent research experience.

Rising Star Program

Requirements

  • Experience in participating in major projects with personal achievements;
  • Proven ability to effectively support team leaders and demonstrated team spirit;
  • Experience in developing and delivering research programs;
  • PhD in relevant subject area with 2+ years of independent research experience; masters in relevant subject area with 7+ years of independent research experience.

Career Starter Program

Requirements

  • Excellent academic background with PhD in relevant subject area;
  • Have innovative achievements in PhD study, showing potential for academic excellence;
  • Good understanding of the subject with dynamic academic ideas.

The Entrepreneurs Program

Requirements

  • Sound understanding of technology transfer and industries, demonstrated business acumen and leadership skills, as well as team spirit;
  • Developed product or technology in line with the lab's research areas, holding a leading position in industry;
  • Have a clear business plan to start up a S&T company or have already done so;
  • Proved skills in relevant subject.

The Managers Program

Requirements

  • Strong management and leadership skills with an international perspective;
  • Innovative and creative thinker, able to identify new opportunities to move the lab forward;
  • A successful track record of strategy development, delivery and execution resulting in sustained business improvement;
  • Strong verbal and written presentation and communication skills.
